Q. Has one series been a more rewarding experience over another?
A. Some of the most rewarding series
were the "Thirst" and "Regeneration" series, which asked
broader questions. With the "Thirst" series, I utilized
ceramic history and a form that water vessels were able
to inhabit. The research, study and having it materialize
in front of me was fascinating. With the "Regeneration"
series, I can continue in a lot of different ways because
it's more sustainable.
Q. What are you doing next?
A. I am interested in researching sound,
harmonic sounds, and sound waves. My next question is
this:' is there a method to visualize the physical space
that sound occupies?' Using voice-recognition software,
I will identify symmetrical sounds, contrast "um" and
"om," and create the patterns and forms that look like
vessels out of clay. |
