One notices the fluid organic forms and strong sense of symmetry in the work of Gregory Roberts. The tactile qualities of these works persuade the viewer to reach out and grab them while the rather industrial edge keeps one’s hands away. There seems to be a theme throughout all of Roberts’ series, this being shape. Nearly everything created is round. Those objects which are round remind one of the infinity sign, the earth, sun, moon, and even shapes within the human form. This organic shape permeates all of Roberts’ work. These pieces are minimalist yet complex. The textures and patterns found within these works are surprising. One is drawn into the works by their sleek forms, yet finds delicate detail when looking more closely. On many levels, environmental, cultural, or psychological, the works of Gregory Roberts are engaging and interesting to any art enthusiast.
