To fully appreciate the value of “Products From Meditation”
you must understand the work process that went into their
making . Roberts has taken the phonebook and turned a
heavy piece of confusion into a means of meditation.
In his process of creating this piece, Roberts would fold
single pages of the phonebook for hours at a time. The
repeated movement allowed him to achieve a meditative
state and focus on his inner being. The phonebook, usually
a tool for distraction from one’s self is now a tool for
self-awareness and discovery. Roberts has altered an
everyday object and made it a beautiful piece of artwork
capable of awakening our conscious to the equation that
is constantly in front of us, ourselves.
